To measure the speed of the shaft using magnetic transducer

AIM: -To measure the speed of the shaft using magnetic transducer.


APPARATUS: - Trainer kit, connecting leads.

THEORY:- The voltage is included in the coil around a magnet if is subjected to change in magnetic field this known as electromagnetic induction . As shaft rotates tooth passes in front of pick up and produce a   in field rΓ©sistance of magnetic circuit. The density of magnetic field increase & decreases as each tooth approaches & leaves away from the end of bar magnet per second. Let t be no. Of teeth on rotor, N be the rotations per sec. & P the no. of pulse per second then.

Speed N = pulse per sec. / no. of teeth =  (p/t*60)rpm

PROCEDURE:-

Connected the motor to dimmerstat to vary the i/p supply by which speed changes.
Connect the motor connection to speed measurement system.
Changing the speed take the reading of motor.
Note down the reading in observation table.

RESULT:- Thus we have measured the speed of shaft using magnetic transducer.
